Foundation Phase

In this vital phase, one cannot over-estimate the value of parental support. Please click the link to read our advice to parents of children in these early grades.

Advice to parents

Academic Support

Academic assistance is available to children and their parents, if needed. The service provided by our Remedial and Support Department is multi-disciplinary, and it involves co-operation between educators, remedial teachers, occupational therapists, speech therapists, and educational psychologists.

Enrichment And Special Coaching

We pay particular attention to the individual needs of our learners and incorporate both extension and support into the academic programme, for English, Mathematics, and Computer Skills. Class teachers may be approached for details.

English Bridging

English is the LOLT (Language Of Learning and Teaching) at Hudson Park, and children from Grade 3 to 7 who need reiteration of the essential basics of reading, comprehension, and vocabulary building have access to our specialised Bridging English classes. Learning takes place within a small group environment in which the pupils can gain confidence and develop competence.

English Excellence

The effect of the Bridging and Building programme, as well as our English Excellence Club, can be seen in Hudson Park Senior Phase placing first 4 times since 2018,in the annual English competitions run by SACEE (South African Council for English Education).

Outdoor Education

Learning does not only take place in the classroom. We regularly take our children on excursions and camps, where they have the opportunity to develop environmental awareness, leadership abilities, and social skills.
