Mathematics defines the world around us in terms of numbers and symbols. It is a language in itself, and our goal is to ensure that our learners become confident in the use of mathematical skills and techniques. This grounding will serve them in all areas of activity and will be of life-long benefit.
The aim of Mathematics is to provide a real understanding of how numbers relate to each other. Thus, it deals with the observing, representing, and investigating of patterns and relationships. Through mathematical engagement, many capacities are developed. These are associated with logical and critical thinking, accuracy, problem solving, and decision making.
"Children will not remember you for the material things you provided, but for the feeling that you cherished them."
- Richard Evans
