Developing Global Perspective

EMS is taught in the Senior Phase and in it, we look at efficient and effective ways of using resources to satisfy humanity's needs and wants. It is a practical subject and a dynamic one. It responds to prevailing conditions, and learners gain skills which are applicable to all areas of life.

Higher Order Thinking Skills

EMS calls for learners to draw upon their knowledge and produce practical solutions. Such work builds higher order thinking skills, creativity, problem solving ability, team work, and communication skills. Its topics concern everyone.

"It is easier to build strong children than to repair broken men."

- Frederick Douglass

Future Entrepreneurs

The main aims of EMS are to give learners an understanding of how business operates and to equip them with knowledge and skills that will enable them to succeed, both in the commercial world and in their personal lives.

Each year, we involve our Grade 7 pupils in an entrepreneurial project which calls for them to put their knowledge into practice. This happens in the third term. On the appointed Market Day, they rent space for stalls and sell goods, or services, to the rest of the school, hoping to turn a profit.
